The Basics
The sport is a competition in two types of lifts: the Snatch, in which competitors must lift the barbell over their heads from the floor in one continuous movement; and the Clean & Jerk, where competitors first "clean" the barbell from the floor to an intermediate position, "racking" the bar on the front of their shoulders, then "jerking" the barbell to a position above their head. Each lifter must compete in both lifts. The winner of a competition is determined by the total weight of his or her best Snatch, and best Clean & Jerk in the competition. Competitors compete in body-weight classes similar in concept to wrestlers and boxers. We can teach anyone to Olympic Lift. |

Testimonials
|
Glenn Pendlay has contributed more to my success as both an athlete and a strength and conditioning coach than anyone. As an athlete under Glenn Pendlay’s guide I was able to reach goals far and beyond my expectations in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting.
I began training with Glenn in August 2000, and what I immediately noticed about Glenn was that while he was an expert in the technical aspects of weightlifting, Glenn’s knowledge reached far beyond his coaching expertise. The training environment that Glenn creates, and his ability to motivate really sets him apart from all other coaches.
I am not sure if what I came to learn from Glenn can be defined, but I do know that he took me from a skinny 190 lb. eighteen year old kid to become the 2003 USA Weightlifting Collegiate National Champion.
